Information for providers
Supporting Providers
Professional development is a continuum of learning and support activities designed to prepare individuals for work with and on behalf of young children and their families, as well as ongoing experiences to enhance this work. These opportunities lead to improvements in the knowledge, skills, practices, and dispositions of early childhood professionals. NWCCRR’s professional development is aligned to the Center for Early Childhood Professional Development (CECPD) requirements and grounded in research and delivered in innovative ways by our staff.
training for providers
Northwest Child Care Resource & Referral offers a variety of services to licensed child care providers such as:
• Training
• On-site coaching to infant/toddler teachers
• On-site coaching to preschool teachers
• On-site coaching to directors or owners on best business practices
• Resources to enhance a program or classroom
Practice-based Coaching (pbc)
Practice-Based Coaching (PBC) is a professional development strategy that uses a recurrent process. This process supports providers’ use of effective teaching practices that lead to positive outcomes for children. PBC occurs in the context of collaborative partnerships.
Early Learning guidelines
We utilize the Early Learning Guidelines. The Oklahoma Early Learning Guidelines Ages Three through Five are intended to provide guidance to teachers with regard to what children should know and be able to do in order to experience school success. The Early Learning Guidelines provide examples of activities and can be used to develop the curriculum. We also support providers utilizing the Pyramid Model which is a conceptual framework of evidence-based practices for promoting young children’s healthy social and emotional development.
For more information about how we serve both child care providers and families in our community, please download our informational brochure below.
Business Consulting
The business consultant will work to help the owners, directors, and assistant directors to create better business practices. They can help with documentation organization, file folder organization, creating schedules, spreadsheets for deadlines, schedules for staff and anything that leadership wants to create a better practice or to enhance their business quality.
