DEVELOPMENTAL SCREENINGS

CDSA offers a free Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) developmental screening to help you get information on your child’s development and ways to encourage their growth.

Free Developmental screenings are conducted by trained parent support specialists either during a diaper bank visit or through scheduled appointments. Screenings identify areas that need improvement before the child enters school. Other topics discussed are: safe sleep habits, toilet training, and speech development.
Regular developmental screening is recommended for all children. Your child’s participation in this screening helps identify your child’s strengths as well as any areas where your child may need support. To complete your online screening please click the link below.

If you need assistance completing the screening, please reach out to our parent support specialists at 580-242-6131. Our staff will provide a follow-up report upon completion of your child’s screening.

diaper bank

Families can receive free diapers up to 6 times a year. One hundred diapers are given to newborns for the first visit along with baby wipes, and assorted supplies when available. All other babies and young children receive 50 diapers and a package of baby wipes at each visit. Call to schedule an appointment. Same day appointments are usually available. Children must be present at the time of the appointment. There are no income guidelines for this service.

VIP room

The Very Important Play (VIP) room is specially designed so young children and their parents can comfortable interact while parents learn to identify developmental milestones and support further early childhood development.

In addition, parents can support each other as their children play with other children. Early Childhood experts are always available to ensure that information is on hand when parents have questions.

Playgroups are held on Tuesday and Thursdays from 9:30am-11:30am. These special days are for caregivers and children birth to 48 months (4 years) of age. Our parent support specialist helps the caregivers to lead their child(ren) in organized play activities to enhance their child’s development and increase their literacy skills.

Newborn safe sleep kits

The Safe Sleep program provides information to the family of every child born in area hospitals. We want to ensure that parents understand the latest science on safe sleep practices. This program’s overarching purpose is to reduce the infant mortality rate.

moms support group

Welcoming a newborn into your family-and into the world-is a joyous occasion. But pregnancy and the days and months following the birth of a child can be emotionally challenging! This is especially true for parents who are affected by perinatal mood disorder (PMD), including postpartum depression.
Anyone can suffer from PMD. It is essential to recognize the symptoms early and intervene as soon as possible. Support groups fill an important role to address social isolation often experienced by new moms and to help moms who are suffering know they are not alone, not to blame, and with help can recover fully.
